DB Custom Rods

Pricing:

The price of the rod will vary, dependent upon the price of the components, including the blank, guides, and complexity of the handle, namely whether it is preformed or customized.  There is a $35 minimum for customized handles plus materials and it will typically not exceed this minimum for customized handles.

Shipping:

Rods that are not available for pickup will be shipped via Federal Express. When rods are shipped, buyer will receive a shipping quote included in the initial sales estimate. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. Alternative shipping methods will be considered if necessary. Currently, all shipping is limited to within only the United States.

Payment Policy:

Buyer is required to submit a non-refundable 50% deposit for his/her custom fishing rod at the time of the initial order. Initial deposit may be completed in the form of cash, if in person, or through credit card or Paypal. At the time of the custom rod completion, the buyer is fully responsible for the remainder of the payment, including shipping charges, if applicable. If custom rod is to be shipped, I will charge the agreed upon account for the necessary remaining funds, such as a credit card or Paypal, and then make arrangements to ship out the custom rod, with notification to the buyer via email/phone that the rod has been shipped to him/her.

Timeline:

Buyer will be informed when initial order is placed about shipment date. Generally, rods take between 3 to 6 weeks but I will notify you with any delays that occur, due to extenuating circumstances, such as back orders with items or supplies.

Sales Tax/Sport Fishing Excise Tax:

All Pennsylvania residents will be subjected to a 6% sales tax.

The IRS requires every custom rod builder to collect sport fishing excise tax, which is 10% or up to $10 maximum.  There will be a separate area on the sales invoice designated to the amount of sport fishing excise tax charged for each custom rod sold, dependent on the price of the rod.  It is helpful to know that roughly 94% of proceeds from the excise tax are distributed to the fish and wildlife departments of all 50 states.  It is a tax used for good purposes.
